Mum's the Word

According to an article posted on www.mcclatchydc.com, one of the firms responsible for the new U.S. Embassy in Baghdad -- officially dedicated just this month -- has thrown away the key.

Kansas City-based Berger Devine Yaeger isn't talking.  A brief search on their Website turns up nothing about the project, which according to its own website is the largest American Embassy structure to date. Construction began in 2005 and was completed in 2008 at a total cost of $592 million.

To see their full range of comments, or lack there of, from BDY and partner company the Berger Group of New Jersey, read the full article here.

Why the silence? Is it fear of criticism or does it have to do with security issues? Perhaps they feel a celebration seems not in order over a building when extreme violence continues to be such a staple in the city's daily life. Tell us what you think.
