Tee up

Golf

Let's start the new year with a little fun. For those in Chicago, mark your calendars for Feb. 12, when The Merchandise Mart will host its sixth annual "Miniature Masters at The Mart." Benefitting the Illinois Interior Design Coalition (IIDC), a not-for-profit legislative association, the event transforms contract showrooms into quirky miniature golf holes. On par with the mini golf action are a silent auction, prizes, music, food, awards and a party, "The 19th Hole After-Party."

The event, planned by ASID-IL and IIDA-IL, includes 18 contracts showrooms across three floors of The Merchandise Mart, as well as three showroom-sponsored watering holes to rest, refresh and mingle. Entrants are grouped in teams of four with prizes going to the best-dressed foursome and best design of a hole. Teams are made up of interior designers, clients, brokers, contractors, vendors, dealers, students, and other industry professionals.
