So long, Sears

45535139

Same building, different name. According to the Chicago Tribune, after this summer, the Sears Tower will be no more...in name, that is. Instead, the Chicago giant will be known as Willis Tower, in honor of tenant Wills Group Holdings, a London-based insurance broker.

A piece of trivia: Sears, Roebuck & Co. finished construction on the tower in 1973 and it the time of completion it was the tallest in the world. But Sears hasn't had offices in the building since 1992, and the building's height was surpassed in 1998.
