Talking 'bout sustainability

File Mark your calendars: The New York School of Interior Design is celebrating Earth Day with a lecture by sustainability expert David Oakey. His talk, entitled "Respect for the Future," is set to be an in-depth overview of how nature can become a mentor for design and will also trace Oakey's transition from questioning the sustainability movement to becoming a leader in the realm.

Oakey is a champion of smart design inspired by biomimicry, a discipline that applies nature's designs and processes to solve human problems. He has worked with InterfaceFLOR, Nike, Walmart, BP, Proctor & Gamble, and a number of universities.
